Birmingham, AL (April 18, 2008) - Aaron Yates and Geoff May have completed their first Superstock practice session of the AMA Superbike Doubleheader weekend at Barber Motorsports Park.  At the conclusion of the one hour session, Yates ended in second place with a time of 1:26.629 only slightly ahead of his teammate May.  May finished in third with a time of 1:27.118. 

During the AMA Superbike practice session, Yates concluded the track time eighth fastest with a time of 1:26.769.  Just outside of the top-10, May's ran a 1:27.149.  Later this afternoon, both riders will take their Suzuki GSX-R1000's to the 2.38 mile road course for their first of two qualifying sessions for the AMA Superbike class.  The final qualifying session to determine the grid position for the Superbike races is scheduled for Saturday morning at 9:30am CST. 

Race one of the Superbike doubleheader is Saturday, at 3:30pm CST.  Race two is Sunday, at 3:00pm CST.   Superbike races are 100K, and for Barber's track size its 28 laps of racing action!!
