Here's a note posted from Shane's lovely wife, Lisa! Day +16 - Free at last!!!! Shane got out about 2:00 p.m. today. We are so happy! After being inside for 3 weeks and 2 days, Shane just wanted to sit outside in the backyard for a while. It is so good to have him home. A home health nurse will be over tomorrow as he still needs to receive meds through the IV. I also had to get his 8 prescriptions filled! Thank goodness for insurance paying some of the prescriptions, because they are expensive! Now for Shane to be careful to avoid infections - he is immunosurpressed. And to avoid graft versus host disesae. He is on plenty of medications for all of this, so we will keep our fingers crossed that the next 85 days or so are uneventful. He goes to the hospital on Saturday for bloodwork and then again on Monday for bloodwork and to see the doctor. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers. It's so good to have my honey home!!!
