MICHAEL JORDAN MOTORSPORTS SUZUKI TAKES POLE POSITION

Aaron Yates on the Pole at Barber Motorsports Park

Birmingham, AL (April 21, 2007) – Michael Jordan Motorsports Suzuki rider Aaron Yates put his 2007 Suzuki GSX-R1000 on pole position in today’s AMA Superstock motorcycle road race at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL. This marks the first pole position for the young privateer Jordan Suzuki race team. 

Yates, the former 2005 AMA Superstock Champion, earned the position with a lap time of 1:25.619 on the 2.3 mile Barber road course, besting factory Yamaha racer Ben Bostrom, who was followed by factory Suzuki racer Ben Spies, Geoff May, and Yates’ Jordan Suzuki teammate Jake Holden.  

In a post-qualifying interview, Yates thanked his Jordan Suzuki crew for their hard work, stating, “They made some changes to the bike, which made it come around, giving me the feel I have been looking for.”  

Yates, in his first year as a member of the Jordan Suzuki team, is currently 4th in the overall points standings for the Superstock class.
