Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course - August 3-5, 2007
SUNDAY RAIN PLAN

1. On track activities will be suspended until the track is in race condition.

2. A PA call with horns will be made approximately 1 hour before the anticipated opening of the track.

3. Once the track is deemed to be in race condition the meet will be run with the following schedule:

a. 15 min Superbike warmup

b. 10 min break
c. warm up lap (No sighting lap)
d. Superbike Race (18 laps)

e. 15 min Supersport warmup
f. 10 min break
g. warm up lap (No sighting lap)
h. Supersport Race (12 laps)

i. 15 min Superstock warmup
j. 10 min break
k. warm up lap (No sighting lap)
l. Superstock Race (12 laps)

(Any races run to 50% will be considered complete)

4. If the rain has not stopped by , Sunday’s events will be canceled.

5. If the Superbike race is completed the meet will be considered complete regardless of whether Supersport or Superstock is completed.

6. Should no races be completed on Sunday the meet may be moved to Monday.

At this time the availability of Monday for on track activities is in question.

IT'S RAINING IN LEXINGTON, OHIO

August 5, 2007 (9:25am est) - All on track activities are on hold this morning while the AMA officials determine the course of action for the current and pending rainfall.  The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is not a favorite of racers to ride wet!  We'll know the official game plan shortly. 

Jake Holden is here trackside waiting and hanging with his crew during.  He is feeling good this morning despite his injuries suffered on Thursday during practice.  He is hopeful that he'll get the chance to race today.  Holden qualified his GSX-R1000 for the second slot on the front row for the AMA Superstock race.  His teammate Aaron Yates qualified third!

YATES EARNS FOURTH IN AMA SUPERBIKE RACE ONE

Lexington, OH (August 4, 2007) - In a very exciting AMA Superbike battle here at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Yates earned fourth place and 27 valuable points in the AMA Superbike Championship during race one of the weekend's doubleheader.  Yates started today's event on the front row in fourth place and quickly moved his Dunlop shod Suzuki GSX-R1000 into second place for two laps in the abbreviated event.  

A red flag caused a stoppage of the racing activities leaving riders with 12 laps to complete on the restart.  A race which normally would be 26 laps was completed today in 24 according to the lap chart provided by the AMA. 

During the event, Yates was momentarily relegated to sixth position through several late braking passes by on track competitors and he moved in fifth place when one rider lost his grip and low sided out of contention.  Yates battled for 13 laps to move into fourth place and narrowly (.027 secs) missed the last slot on the podium.  

On Sunday, Yates will return to the track to battle in race two of the Superbike schedule here at Mid-Ohio.  Prior though, both Jake Holden and Yates will compete in the 16 lap AMA Superstock event at 1:00 pm EST.

HOLDEN & YATES ON SUPERSTOCK FRONT ROW

Lexington, OH (August 4, 2007) - Michael Jordan Motorsports Suzuki riders Jake Holden and Aaron Yates have both qualified for a front row start in Sunday's AMA Superstock racing at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.  Holden who suffered a crash on Thursday showed no signs an ailing lower back and right elbow when he rode his Suzuki GSX-R1000 to the second fastest position on the starting grid on today's qualifying session.  However, Holden has opted to sit out this weekend's Superbike events to focus on Superstock.
